Clueless

The female director, Amy Heckerling, depicts Cher, the main character in Clueless, as being a shallow, judgmental, self-centered ditz. Heckerling does this in such a way that the audience sees Cher’s character grow and develop throughout the film. Although in the beginning she chooses to take on “projects” in order to boost her own self-esteem, in the end Heckerling turns Cher into someone who cares about others and her environment. Clueless is a light, easygoing story, with no great depth, but is certainly an enjoyable way to spend an hour and a half.
